Mayo Fuster Morell is a researcher at the European University Institute and School of Information at UC Berkeley who is doing doctoral research on the governance of online communities. She edits Wikipedia under the username Lilaroja and presented a Wikimedia governance case study at Wikimania this year. On top of all that, she's also organizing the first international forum on free culture and knowledge which will take place in Barcelona from October 29th to November 1st.

Mayo is in Boston for a cultural research workshop at the Berkman Center, and would like to take some time to meet with Boston wikifolk to discuss her research on Wikimedia. She will also bring info on the free culture forum she's involved in.

Join the Boston Wikipedia crew for dinner and ice cream next Tuesday!

Lots of fun things to discuss, from an upcoming wikiacademy at a nearby University, to reporting on the World Tango Championships, to the future of Wikipedia... and how to stop it.

We'll be meeting at Cuchi Cuchi in Central at 6pm for SUBSIDIZED food and drink (come dressed up in retro costume if you have one), and for ice cream afterwards at Tosci's next door (starting at 7:30).

We will be joined by guest rock stars Jonathan Zittrain (of the band "CompuServe Information Servicemen") and <NAME REDACTED> (from the hit series "XXXXXX XXX XXXXXXXX").

Where : Cuchi Cuchi and Tosci's
When : Tuesday August 18, 6pm / 7:30pm - 9pm
Who : you, me, XXX and JZ

Don't be shy, bring friends and RSVP. (if the crowd gets too big, we'll get some ice cream to go and grab a larger room nearby - I will send out final details on Sunday)
